The legal documents that cover Conductør. Plain-English where we can manage it, legal-English where we have to. If anything here is unclear or you have a question, email help@conductor.lighting.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Conductør (the "Software") provided by Komar Labs, LLC, an Idaho limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Conductør, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Software.
Conductør is desktop software that performs real-time audio-reactive lighting control. Three license tiers are offered:
Feature differences between tiers are documented on the pricing page and may be revised. You'll continue to receive the features you paid for at the tier you purchased; new features may launch at a higher tier than your current one.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and (where applicable) timely payment of fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Conductør on devices you own or control:
Your one-time license entitles you to all updates within the version line you purchased — for example, a v1.0 Pro license includes every v1.x release. We may ship a future major version (v2.0) at our discretion; major-version upgrades may be offered as a paid upgrade, with current-version owners eligible for a discount. Either way, your existing license keeps working on the version line you bought; you are never forced to upgrade to keep using what you paid for.
We don't promise a specific update cadence and we may change, add, or remove individual features within a version line. The right framing is *"you bought v1.x"* — not *"you bought every feature listed on the website on the day you purchased."*
You agree not to:
Conductør includes an AI Director feature ("Lumi") available on Pro and Venue tiers. The Director sends short audio-analysis metrics (frequency-band energies, beat and superbeat counts, lull state, current parameters) to Anthropic's Claude API and applies the returned direction to your light show. The Software does NOT transmit raw audio, microphone capture, or audio content.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) is the operating mode currently offered. You supply your own Anthropic API key from console.anthropic.com; the Software stores it locally on your device and uses it to make AI Director calls directly from your device to Anthropic. Anthropic bills the API usage to your account. Conductør Labs does not see, log, or relay these requests; we have no visibility into their content. See conductor.lighting/byok for setup and cost guidance.
We previously operated a hosted relay that proxied AI Director calls on behalf of Pro and Venue users. That path is currently disabled at the application layer. The relay infrastructure remains deployed and may return as an option in a future release; if and when it does, we will update these Terms and the Privacy Policy to describe the data flow through the relay before re-enabling it.
Conductør is currently in early access / alpha stage. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. We make no representation that the Software is stable, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. You acknowledge that:
Conductør is intended for use in entertainment lighting contexts including but not limited to live music performance. You acknowledge specific risks of stage and event lighting:
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Software; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or third-party right; (d) any harm caused by lighting effects you produced using the Software, including without limitation injuries, property damage, or distress claims arising from photosensitive reactions, eye exposure, or other physical effects.
We may suspend or terminate your access to paid features and your license at any time if you breach these Terms. The license terminates automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination you must stop using and uninstall the Software. Sections 7 through 13 survive termination.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated where possible via the in-app feedback channel email (help@conductor.lighting). Continued use of the Software after a revision constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Software will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ada County, Idaho, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
This Privacy Policy explains what data Conductør collects, how it's used, and how you control it. "Conductør" refers to the desktop software and the website at conductor.lighting. The data controller is Komar Labs, LLC (an Idaho limited liability company); references to "we," "us," and "our" mean the same.
We do NOT sell your data, share it for marketing purposes, or use it to build profiles about you outside of running Conductør itself.
We do not share your data with third parties outside this list, except when required by law (subpoena, court order) or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Regardless of where you live, you can:
If you live in California, the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with statutory privacy rights, you have the same access / correction / deletion rights described above. We respond to verified requests within thirty days. We do not sell personal data under the meaning of the California Consumer Privacy Act or similar laws.
The Software stores app preferences (selected tab, audio device choice, dashboard layout) in your device's local storage. The website does not currently set cookies. PostHog may set first-party cookies if you enable telemetry; they're used only for anonymous event tracking.
Conductør is not directed at children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact help@conductor.lighting and we'll delete it.
We are based in the USA. Our service providers (LemonSqueezy, Anthropic, PostHog, AWS) may process your data in the USA or other jurisdictions. By using Conductør you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the USA.
We may revise this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated where possible.
Conductør is digital software delivered electronically. Once your license is issued and the Software is downloaded, the purchase is final. We do not issue refunds. The only exceptions are billing errors, listed below.
Pro is a one-time purchase — no recurring charges, no auto-renewal. Venue is an annual subscription billed yearly through LemonSqueezy; it auto-renews unless you cancel before the renewal date from your LemonSqueezy customer portal. We refund only in the following limited billing-error cases:
Venue auto-renewals are final once charged. Cancel before your renewal date from the LemonSqueezy customer portal to avoid the next year's charge; we do not refund renewals after the fact except in the billing-error cases above.
Future major versions (e.g. v2.0) may be offered as a paid upgrade with a discount for current-version owners; that's a separate purchase, not a renewal. Your existing license keeps working on the version line you bought regardless of whether you choose to upgrade.
The following are not grounds for a refund:
Email help@conductor.lighting from the address you used to purchase. Include your order number and the reason for your refund request. We respond within five business days. Approved refunds are processed within fourteen days through LemonSqueezy back to your original payment method.
